Software Support Specialist Job Description


Software Support Specialist


The Software Support Specialist in our Dairy Comp and FeedWatch departments are a customer service role within our company that is designed to support our customer base in providing excellent support and by providing solutions for our proprietary software system: Dairy Comp 305 and FeedWatch. While this is a technical role, an expertise in dairy will provide the background needed for this position. The support is done through communication and building relationships via telephone, internet, email, and periodic face-to-face meetings with our customers.


 Answer calls when customers call in with technical problems and/or concerns with regards to software and hardware systems

 Troubleshoot customer computer systems to identify errors and perform modifications to repair issues

 Train customers as needed in use of proprietary software and hardware systems

 Work with customers to ensure hardware is repaired if system failure occurs

 Communicate via email and phone with customers, employees, and/or vendors to resolve issues, for training purposes, and for all general business purposes

 Responsible for keeping up with program changes to ensure that the most current knowledge–base is utilized

 Will be on-call according to schedule

 Document all communication with customers in customer databases

 Confer with staff and management to establish requirements for modifications

 Will maintain SOP’s for position being performed

 Will work cohesively with others

 Develop training materials and procedures for the use of training

 Promote proprietary systems with dairymen, veterinarians, instructors, and all other customers

 Write reports for customers to utilize in the normal line of business as specified by the customer

 Periodically test existing and new software versions of programs to ensure programs are working to maximum utilization

 Assist in various local sales and marketing activities throughout the year at different locations

 Will perform all other duties as assigned and needed


 This position will report to the VP of Customer Success


 There are no supervisory responsibilities required for this position

Software Support Specialist Job Requirements


●  Education required for this position is a four-year degree; or equivalent experience to a four-year degree;

●  Experience required for this position include two to five years in a similar environment in progressive dairy management or consulting with larger dairies with a high level of expertise in the routine on-farm use of Dairy Comp 305 or similar programs; or the equivalent education and experience


●  Our main office is in Tulare, CA;

●  Qualified applicants will be accepted from all over the US;

●  There is the opportunity to work in the main office or remotely from your home location within the US;

●  In office training, will be required.
